Why I Use Commercial WordPress Themes
Themes do more than speed the site development process. They provide a structure and the conformity needed to build a proper website. They help to keep the look and feel of the site throughout the entire structure.
Often I’ve been in bidding situations where a design company brags about their custom design rather than a cookie-cutter theme. What the consumer often doesn’t understand is that things change quickly and very often updates are needed to keep the site running smoothly and securely. A good-quality commercial theme will provide updates as needed, where the custom designer usually doesn’t even know the updates are needed and rarely provides them free of charge if at all.
I have themes that I’ve used on multiple websites and yet no to sites look anything like each other. So when people refer to cookie-cutter design it just not true.
When the next big update to WordPress is released everyone will need theme updates to stay current. That should be a very simple process without an additional expense. Do you thing the “customer designer” is going to keep-up on all of his portfolio of sites? I don’t think so…
